Digital Printing Animation of Dog Digging Hole

“Digital Garment Printing” is a new process that was developed about 2 years ago to fill in the gap of printed items that screen printing simply won’t do. Screen printing shops won’t print small runs as it is cost prohibitive with the cost of setting up the screens. The garment printing process can do 1 shirt or 100, it really doesn’t matter.

There are no set up fees if given camera ready artwork or “clean artwork”. The garment is then simply printed on a very large printer much like the printers you use on your computer except with different ink. The item is then heat set to make the design permanent. Unlike screen printing, you cannot feel these inks on your garment. There will be no cracking like there is with some screen printed items.

There are limitations at the current time with this process. There is no white ink – just like there is no white ink in your printer. The colors are transparent and do not work on darker colored shirts. The best colors to use are white, natural, light grey and some pastel blues, yellows, pinks etc. On some darker shirts such as orange or red, black ink will be the only color that shows up.

The printer can print on cotton, cotton/poly blend and other “natural” fibers but not man-made fibers. So far we have printed on lots of tee shirts, tank tops, canvas bags, mouse pads, fabric for quilt squares and some polo shirts. So, if you have photos or logos or drawings you would like on something that is fabric, give us a call or e-mail us and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
